Conditions for the Benchmark:
1 Thread per engine, 1024 GB Hash, 5 min run, calculate the kN/s manual as GUI's calculate different.
C2 Ph2 920 i5m
C2 1,00 1,01 0,88 0,96
Ph2 1,00 1,00 0,87 0,95
920 1,14 1,16 1,00 1,09
i5m 1,05 1,07 0,92 1,00
This means that the i7-920 is aprox. 14% faster than a Phenom2 (at the same clock speed) or an i5m (mobile)
is about 5% faster than a Core2 (at the same clock speed) in average over the 20 best UCI engines.
Overall it is interesting to see that a chess benchmark with one engine always fail the average and that
the difference between the hardware is smaller than prices and advertisement indicate - at least for chess!
A MP test is too difficult as every engine has to run multiple positions several times. I doubt a huge
difference to the single test as the concept is basicaly the same (Maybe the Core2 will lose a bit as it is
basicaly a double-dual CPU while th eothers are real 4/6 core CPU's.
If anyone want a certain hardware tested ... contact me for the address where to send it! :-)

Shredder Tournament Manager
This is a small tool to edit the "Tourney.sto" files of the Shredder Classic GUI. It can only be used with a
current GUI from Shredderchess and is delivered "as is"! If you are not experienced with the Shredder Classic
GUI the usage is not intuitive. With this you can add engines in existing tourneys, move engines up or down
and save the tourney again. In short: It saves a lot of clicks.
Be aware that old results in the *.sto will not be saved with this version!
Microsoft dot.Net is required.
